Lasconi: I appeal to state institutions - do not destroy democracy in Romania
The chairwoman of Save Romania Union (USR), Elena Lasconi, asked, on Friday, the state institutions "not to destroy democracy" in Romania and to take the citizens' opinion into account.
"Romanians know who the real liar is. They know, because they are intelligent. I want to unite all Romanians and change the reality of the last 35 years, to survive Russia's interference, but for that we need to be more united than ever, including with Mr. Ciolacu, who is also Romanian. Democracy in Romania is put to the test an appeal to the state institutions: don't destroy the Romanians' opinion! Stop being enmity with the Romanian people," Lasconi said in a press statement at USR headquarters.
She mentioned that, after 35 years, Romanians can have a president who unites, not divides the people.
"It depends on us if we let Russia make our agenda and it also depends on us if we let imposters with dubious interests lead us, individuals who for their own good and that of their friends would be able to set fire to the country. Last Sunday, 9,5 million Romanians voted in the country and in the diaspora and thank you for that, and only nine political appointees decided that your will was not it matters. They decided to change the rules of the game just because they can. I will not let them mock democracy and your will, I will not give in," said Elena Lasconi.
