Romania National Day celebration in Vietnam/Ambassador Romila highlights Romania's role in promoting EU-Vietnam economic cooperation

Romania's ambassador to Vietnam Cristina Romila said that Romania plays an important role in promoting the economic cooperation framework between the European Union and Vietnam, noting that Romania-Vietnam solidarity manifests at international and European level, the Vietnam News Agency VNA reports.

Speaking at an event organized by the Union of Friendship Organizations in Ho Chi Minh City to mark Romania's National Day (observed on December 1) and 10 years since the establishment of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City (VRFA), the ambassador said that bilateral relations between Romania and Vietnam, based on the traditional friendship between the peoples of the two countries, have made strong progress and reflect the growing dynamism of high-level bilateral connections. The relationship has recorded positive results in the areas of political dialogue, diplomacy, culture and economy, the diplomat added.

According to Romila, bilateral trade between Romania and Vietnam over the first seven months of 2024 reached $245.97 million, up 26.28% year-on-year. The two countries share common interests in future-oriented areas such as information technology and green energy.

The relationship between Romania and Vietnam is currently experiencing the most dynamic period in the history of their ties. The focus on developing bilateral cooperation provides a solid foundation for the friendship between the peoples of the two countries, Romila added.

At the same event, VRFA President Truong Giang said that the association serves as a bridge that promotes solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the people of the city in particular, and those of Vietnam in general, and the Romanian people.
