The chairman of Forta Dreptei, Ludovic Orban, and the leader of the Popular Movement Party (PMP), Eugen Tomac, announced their support for Elena Lasconi in the second round of the presidential elections.
In a press conference held at the Save Romania Union (USR) headquarters, Orban said that Lasconi, as the future president, will need "strong allies" in the Legislature, to be able to build a parliamentary majority to carry out the reforms expected by the citizens. He urged the Romanians to celebrate the national day, December 1, "giving a chance to Romania", by voting for the reformist political formations.
"I am glad that I was able to make a modest contribution in the first round of the presidential elections, which will allow us on December 8 not to have to choose, between two evils, the lesser evil. Today, dear Romanians, we will have to choose between good, represented by Elena Lasconi, and a terrible evil that befalls us, represented by a candidate who appeared out of nowhere, a candidate who wants to return Romania to the cage in which those from the East tried to keep us every time, when the international situation allowed them. The Force of Right will do in the entire next period what it did in the last week of the campaign for the first round of the presidential elections - will be together body and soul, with all the energy, with the tens of thousands of members, with all the local elected officials, with all our representatives from the polling stations, to guarantee that Romania remains on the right track, to guarantee that Elena Lasconi will be the long-awaited president of Romanians for over 35 years," Ludovic Orban said.
