PM Marcel Ciolacu: I will leave the Victoria Palace proud; I did not harm Romania
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Thursday that he will leave the Victoria Palace "proud", because he did not do any harm to Romania and that he understood the message of the Romanians.
"I will leave the Victoria Palace proud, proud when I meet friends and acquaintances and Romanians in the street. There will be another period when I will have to give explanations, but, above all, proud in front of my son. I have not done any harm to Romania and it turned out that the decisions I took, with the electoral costs, were correct decisions. If Romania and the Government of Romania, I and the minister of finance - and I also congratulate Mr. Bolos - had not taken the decision to borrow in September, now Romania would have had big problems for the first time", Ciolacu told Antena 1 TV station.
He mentioned that he made a mistake, paid and understood the signal given by the Romanians.
"I had to communicate differently. I can't be bad. I can't change. If I had to resume the electoral campaign tomorrow, it's possible to make the same mistakes regarding the need for Romanians to be good and not hate each other, even in the electoral campaign, to talk about constructive things. Instead, we need to vote as many as possible. The most important thing for PSD is the fact it has been demonstrated in the past 35 years to be the balancing factor of society. PSD always came in a complicated moment and brought coherence to a governing act," stated Ciolacu.
He also said that the two presidential candidates who entered the second round "do not represent the local authorities". "The mayors and local authorities are in the other two big parties, most of them in the PSD. Let's not wake up with political instability like in Bulgaria. It is Romania's most difficult moment after 35 years", said the prime minister.
