Comentarii Adauga Comentariu _ Number of job vacancies up by 5,400 in Q3 2024 against Q2Number of job vacancies up by 5,400 in Q3 2024 against Q2The number of job vacancies was 39,900 in the third quarter of this year, up by 5,400 compared to the previous quarter and down slightly, by 100, compared to the same period last year, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) reports on Tuesday. The estimated job vacancy rate for the third quarter of 2024 was 0.78%, up by 0.11 percent compared to the previous quarter, and remained constant compared to the similar quarter of last year. According to the INS data, in the third quarter of 2024, the highest vacancy rates were recorded in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (1.64%), public administration (1.63%), entertainment, cultural and recreational activities (1.56%), respectively water distribution, sanitation, waste management, decontamination activities (1.45%). One fifth of the total number of vacancies was concentrated in the manufacturing industry (8,000 vacancies), and the rate value was 0.73%. The budgetary sector accounted for 28% of the total number of vacancies. Thus, 4,500 vacancies were found in public administration, 3,500 vacancies in health and social assistance, and 3,100 vacancies in education. On the other hand, the vacancy rate recorded the lowest values in the real estate transactions and other service activities (0.19% for each), respectively in the drilling industry (0.2%). Compared to the previous quarter, the most relevant increases in both the rate and the number of job vacancies were recorded in education (+0.65 percent, respectively +2,300 vacancies) and in public administration (+0.41 percent, respectively +1,200 vacancies). At the opposite end of the scale, the job vacancy rate recorded more relevant decreases in real estate transactions (-0.24 percentage points), respectively in transport and storage and other service activities (-0.09 percentage points each). More significant decreases in the number of job vacancies were observed in transport and storage (-300 vacancies) and in manufacturing (-200 vacancies). Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the most significant increases in both the rate and the number of job vacancies recorded were in education (+0.3 percentage points, respectively +1,100 thousand vacancies), in health and social assistance (+0.27 percentage points, respectively +1,100 vacancies), and in public administration (+0.27 percentage points, respectively +800 vacancies). At the opposite end of the scale, the job vacancy rate recorded the most significant decreases in real estate transactions (-0.5 percentage points), financial intermediation and insurance (-0.38 percentage points) and in information and communications (-0.32 percentage points). The number of job vacancies experienced the most pronounced decrease in manufacturing (-2,500 vacancies).
