Cluj's metro represents new stage for local administrations and Gov't, says Ciuca

Nicolae Ciuca added that the new project is proof that Romania is modernizing, and Cluj is at the forefront of attracting investors and the correlation between local and central authorities for the objectives needed by the community.

"This new project is proof that Romania is transforming, Romania is modernizing, and Cluj is the spearhead (...) for what vision means, for what it means to draw investors, for what a team at the administration level means local in order to design all that is necessary for the community, for the people and also to interact, to correlate with the central authorities, with the Government of Romania, with all other institutions, so that these objectives come to life. Mr. mayor, I remember that at the time when you were talking about the metro, the world did not believe that it could be fulfilled, that this project could take shape, and here we are today witnessing its implementation", said Nicolae Ciuca.

The president of the PNL pointed out that the construction of the metro will lead to a decrease in the number of vehicles going through Cluj-Napoca, a fact relevant both for the traffic decongestion and from the perspective of the green transformation of the city.

At the same time, Nicolae Ciuca argued that a metro outside Bucharest represents a new approach to Romania's future for local administrations and the Government.

The president of the PNL, Nicolae Ciuca, together with the Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, participated on Wednesday, in marking the beginning of the works on the metro line in Cluj.
