Romania's COVID-19 daily case count rises by 1,421; tests performed in last 24 hours: over 15,000; 107 deaths
As many as 1,421 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were recorded in the last 24 hours in Romania following over 15,000 tests nationwide, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Tuesday, agerpres reports.
A total of 107 deaths - 61 men and 46 women - in patients infected with the new coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Tuesday.
According to the GCS, 100 of the deaths were from patients who had comorbidities, 4 patients who died had no comorbidities, and no comorbidities had been reported to date for 3 patients who died.
6 deaths occurred prior to the reference interval, in the counties of Arad, Arges, Covasna, Neamt, in October and November 2021, and 101 deaths were reported in the reference interval.
Out of a total of 107 patients who died, 93 were unvaccinated and 14 were vaccinated. The 14 vaccinated deceased patients ranged in age from 50-59 to over 80 years. All vaccinated patients who died had comorbidities.
From the beginning of the pandemic until Tuesday, 57,260 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
